The Gospel accounts according to Mathew and Luke give us a marvelous insight into the birth and life of our lord and Savior Jesus Christ. What a marvelous love story! In fact, it is without question the greatest love story ever told. It involves both the natural and supernatural. A time when the supernatural of heaven invaded our natural earth. A time when the Son of God was breathed into the virgin womb of Mary by the Holy Spirit. The instant this miraculous conception took place, Jesus, a supernatural spirit, became flesh, safe in the womb of Mary until His natural birth. Born of God, born of woman, He was fully God, yet He was fully man. John says that the Spirit became flesh and dwelled among us. John also tells us, “In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it” (John 1:4-5). Millions of souls are still walking in darkness, in desperate need of light. Jesus said, “You are the light of the world” (Matt. 5:14) and so we are. We may also want to consider that we are the only bible that some people will ever read. Our light must shine!
This Christmas, take time to thank God for His great love for us. Take time to reflect and remember His great faithfulness. Of the many times He remained faithful when we did not; of His countless blessings of mercy, and not only of His mercy, but of His abundant Grace as well. Be reminded as you gaze upon your Christmas tree that not only is Jesus the Light of the world, but that He has also commissioned us to be the light of the world. This Christmas, let the joy of the Lord fill our hearts, minds, and souls. Revel in the knowledge that “Greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
Thanks for telling others about our web site, DonAndPenny.com. The gospel is not complicated, but Satan has blinded many to believe that their true worth is in their works. The Truth, the whole Truth, and nothing but the Truth can really set God’s people free.
Penny and I pray that this will be your greatest and best Christmas ever! We love you much!
