I Just Want To Be Happy Part 11

Everyone has faith, but not everyone has a God type of Faith. In fact, even the disciples of Jesus struggled with their faith. They had witnessed true faith at work when Jesus cursed a fig tree, causing it to wither and die. In absolute awe they asked of Him,”Increase our faith.” His response was not what they expected. He didn’t say, “Great idea! I taught you how to pray, so now let’s have a class on how to increase your faith.” Rather, He replied, “If you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, be taken up and cast into the sea and it would obey you.” Notice carefully His first four words: “If you had faith.” In other words, they didn’t need more faith because faith always works. They needed to believe in the power and authority He had already given them. Faith believes in spite of what it sees and what it hears. Faith does not doubt, and it refuses to be moved by facts or circumstances.

So the question now arises: What does your faith have to do with your happiness? Everything! Your faith always reflects and reveals what you believe and the way you think. Your belief system and what you believe will precipitate your words, and your words will determine your future. Jeus said, “Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22)! Here is the rub! Every Christian had faith that God would forgive their sins and save them, but when it comes to healing their marriage, their bodies, or their finances, true faith seems to evaporate. The reason? Their faith is not rooted in God’s word and promises; their faith is rooted in what they see and hear, in facts and feelings, in what they have been taught (not sure it’s God’s will) and therefore they believe.

Does that mean you can’t place faith and trust in your spouse, or friends, so that you can enjoy meaningful relationships? Does that mean you should disdain doctors or bankers? No, it doesn’t mean that at all. It simply means that true faith can’t be rooted in people or tangibles, it must be rooted in the Word of God. Believe this! His Word spoken from your lips in faith has the power and ability to change anything and everything! Possessing a God type of faith will keep you from becoming depressed and oppressed when things don’t go according to plan; when a doctor gives a bad report, or when people or friends disappoint you and undesirable circumstances want to dominate. Overcoming faith is active, not waiting for the manifestation, but giving praise and thanksgiving unto the Father for what He has already done.

God wants you to be happy and He wants to give you the desires of your heart, so allow the Lord to release His Spirit of happiness over you and your home. Remember, it is impossibe for God’s spoken word to return void and without accomplishing what it was sent to do.(Is. 55:11) Get happy, get excited, because victory has come to your house!
