Immanuel – God With Us!

By December 25, 2015Uncategorized

Today, we who know Christ Jesus as our Savior can once again celebrate the most marvelous gift ever given to man!   The wonderful story of the birth of Jesus is without equal, being wonderfully sublime, eminent in glory, and powerful in presentation.  His birth was foretold by the prophets; His purpose made clear; His life made spectacular; His love given freely; His rejection embraced; His death made victorious.  Jesus is the Son of God, the Servant of Man, the Light of the world, and the Savior of all mankind.  Born to a young virgin girl named Mary, He was sent to earth to destroy the works of the devil, to make recompense for sin, and to undo and recover for the entire world, for all humanity, the authority that was stolen from Adam and Eve.  What did Adam and Eve lose?  They lost the authority to reign and rule over the earth to a con-artist named Satan.  Would you and I have done better?  Probably not.  We would like to think that we would have done better, but each day of our lives we make choices that remind us that we too need a Savior.

Let this day be One that we will always remember as we gather around the Christmas tree to open our presents, taking time to share but a few of the many miraculous blessings He has freely given to us.  We can proclaim Him to our loved ones, our children and our grandchildren!  We can take precious moments to be reminded of His faithfulness, of His constant pursuit of us when we were but as sheep astray, lost and without hope, and destined for judgment.  We can give praise and glory to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for giving us a spiritual position in heavenly places and giving us an open invitation to go into His throne room of mercy and grace with confidence and hope.  It is there that we can lift up our prayers and petitions to the Father and know that the little child born to Mary is now our advocate before Him.  It is because of Christmas that we can live each day with the assurance of knowing that He has heard our prayers and that He always watches over His Word to perform it.

Christmas Day has come!  Enjoy it!  Embrace it! Revel in it, and rest in Him, the Prince of Peace!
