“If anyone is in Christ, he is a New Creation, the old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new” (11 Cor. 5:17).
What a wonderful passage of scripture. We who once were lost and without hope have been made one with Christ Jesus through the marvelous works of the Cross. We were sinners, and though we at times still err and sin, we are no longer sinners in the eyes of our Lord. No, we were old sinners, but when we received the stain washing blood of Jesus we became as white as snow. We had a sin nature, but Romans 6:6 reminds us that our old nature was crucified with Christ, and in that same instant our spirit person was born again. Jesus said to Nicodemus, “You must be born again.” The Father of the Prodigal son said of him, “My son was dead but now he is alive!” Can you feel the excitement in the Father? Yes, dear reader, God gets excited over His children. His son was willing to go back to his Fathers’ house as a servant, but the Father said to his servants, “bring the robe, (picture of righteousness) put a ring on his finger, (picture of marriage, inheritance, and authority) and put sandals on his feet (picture of a son as slaves were not allowed to wear sandals in the home) and kill the fatted calf.
Jesus said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free” (John 8:32). So now let’s make this personal and begin to speak!!! “I will never again look in a mirror and be deceived into believing that nothing has changed. I am who God says I am, I am a child of the King. Thank You Father that Jesus bore all of my sins on the Cross of Calvary. Thank you Father that I have been made complete in Christ! Thank you that my DNA is now the Divine Nature of the Almighty. Thank you that my name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and my citizenship is in heaven. Holy Father, your Word declares that the same Holy Spirit that raised Christ from the dead now lives in me. Therefore, I am the Temple of the Holy Spirit,” and because I am the Temple of the Holy Spirit, no sickness or disease has the right to live in me. Thank you that by His Stripes I am healed. Thank you that I walk in abundance because you came to give me an abundant life (John 10:10). Father, your Word said that I should come boldly into the throne room of grace, so with humility and confidence I pray this prayer back to you in the name that is above every name, Jesus Christ.” Amen, Amen, and Amen.
